Renewals

The renewal letter is an offer, not a verdict.

Your lender sends a renewal because keeping you is easy and profitable. That doesn't make it a bad offer — it just means nobody has checked it against the alternatives.

Why people sign anyway

Because it's simple, and because looking around means paperwork at a moment when nothing feels broken. Most people sign for exactly that reason.

That instinct is understandable. It's also what the offer relies on.

How I work it

A straight comparison of what you've been offered against what else is available, including whether moving is worth the effort in your particular case.

Sometimes the honest answer is that your current offer is fine and you should sign it. You'll be told that too.

This is for you if

  • Your term is ending in the next several months
  • You've received a renewal offer and don't know if it's good
  • Your situation has changed since you last renewed
  • You want to consolidate debt at renewal

Think this is your situation?

Send me the details and I'll tell you straight away where you stand — including if the answer is that it needs work first.
